Paul Levinsohn is an attorney and businessman who has been involved in real estate and private equity transactions for the past 15 years. During that time, he’s owned, developed and acted as counsel for many real estate transactions throughout the New York Metro area.

During the past ten years, Paul bought and sold over 200 retail commercial properties, either to public REITs or to private individuals. His experience also includes procuring financing for a range of real estate investments. Along with his background in real estate, Paul has been involved in a number of private equity transactions in his career. In 2004, Paul, along with other investors, acquired and privatized one of the northeast’s largest convenience store/gas station chains. In addition, Paul, as well as other investors, purchased the assets of a New England-based nutritional supplement manufacturer, which sells its products to major retail outlets like Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS, and the Vitamin Shoppe.

Paul has also devoted time to public service. In 2002, he was appointed Chief Counsel to the Governor of New Jersey. In this position, Paul oversaw a staff of twenty-one attorneys, and managed all of the legal operations for the Governor’s Office. Also, Paul served as a law clerk for Judge Anne E. Thompson, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey from 1995 to 1997. Paul also served as a charter corps member of Teach for America before he entered law school. Teach for America is a national teacher corps program that places teachers in rural and inner city school districts.

During this time, Paul taught American History in a high school in Warren County, North Carolina. Mr. Levinsohn earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University along with his J.D. and M.A. (political science.) During his time at Duke, Paul was appointed to the University Board of Trustees where he served a three-year term.
